Where were you while we were getting high? - OASIS live in concert -
We write 15 January 2009. The year has just begun and already you can check off the box "visit to a mega-concert" with a big fat cross. Done! What was that for a great concert!
But first things first: got up at 9:30. Bad. Food. Cigarette. Los train station. Once there, we had to rush five of Dresden. Well, rushed ... change twice, not counting RB trains and long trains. On the trip from Leipzig to Dresden nice drink latte and played Guitar Hero on the phone. Time passed quickly.
Arrival in Dresden. Quickly brought to you things from others and from the hostel we went to town. I've never been to Dresden! Shame on me! Very beautiful city. With much more ancient, cultural buildings, meant to be. Frauenkirche, Zwinger Palace and Semper Opera House in passing looked ... no time for photography. Two more "Konzertler" picked up and we went to hall.
made the bus already "met with other Oasis fans. (I'd not call myself as a fan, but I like the band anyway.) Average age in the bus: 16! + / - 2 years. Well, great thing! Then it was waiting outside the hall. In the freezing cold, mind you! At some point, but then they had mercy on us and have let in us. The exterior of the hall was not at all close to the interior. From the outside, similar to the slaughterhouse. From inside a very broad and large. Just as the band that we expected.
But first had Tomte on stage. Those who like the band please skip the next paragraph. It is not nice. The only positive thing I could gain off of this band in the evening, Marie was the dog (yes, the dog from Olli Schulz.) On drums. And maybe even wanted to bring himself Thees Uhlmann at the T-shirt stand his merchandise to the man / woman. The rest was boring as always and completely wrong sung. As a non-fan of the band I was schonmal biased, what one should perhaps not be, but I was once again confirmed. Since Mr. Uhlmann was on stage and bragged that they may play as opening act for Oasis. You had to first see if they had time for, but they would not mind. Yeah, if that's funny, it was not! The set list (if one can call it that, with a half-hour show) consisted of old, familiar things, which has joined in the audience accordingly, and new songs from the album "eureka" knew what 15% of those present and dama ; tzte 5% liked. The hit "I sang all the time from you" was probably the highlight. Then they were gone.
During the break, got to drink more quickly what, then again the light went out. And then they came:
OASIS. live!
At the beginning I must say that I've never seen Oasis live and am not expected range with outsized expectations of the whole thing. Maybe I'm not married to me, because there are nunmal Oasis. Either they're cool. Great concert. Or they do not like. Bad concert. But hello, were the good mood that night!
The opener "Rock 'N' Roll Star" was strong and made absolutely want more. The 4 big screen monitors behind the Gallagher brothers and the rest of the band was a looker, not only for the people who found further down the hall into place. Oasis were then briefly nach.Während the first single "Shock of the Lightning" from their seventh studio album "Dig Out Your Soul" sounded the voice of Liam be attenuated and cold-related and scratchy guitar playing, as whether it would have been lost behind the stage. Brief moment of shock. But with the first notes of "Cigarettes & Alcohol" was all back in order and forget. Since they were. The great, wonderful oasis. So, as we know it.
The 5,500 attendees were singing loudly and clapping and jumping to the beat. The average age rose. The band was sympathetic arrogant on stage and had celebrated. Liam armed with a Tambourine, Noel left him with his red guitar. The screens showed artistic images of cars in black and white to were sufficient to abstract bokeh. "The Meaning of Soul," "To Be Where There's Life" and "Waiting for the Rapture" followed. Then came Noel's first song used in this evening. " The Master Plan ". The hall wrapped in purple-colored light. Only Noel and his first acoustic guitar on stage. Goose bumps guaranteed. Liam disappeared, as usual, behind the stage while his brother dahinschmetterte another highlight of the concert. According to "Songbird" and "Slide Away" they played "The Importance of Being Idle" to then give their new single "I'm Outta Time" for the best. And again the hall was draped in beautiful light, what the whole scenario was truly seem unreal. The pauses between the songs were short and Oasis were talking lazy. Only a few times heard a mumble, which came from either Liam or Noel. Before the next song, "said Liam, we can hardly know this song. And what followed? Wonderwall! I never would have thought that they play this song, but they have done it and it was beautiful. One of the most famous songs in rock history's hear live. Schön wars, to say it again.
after "Super Sonic" the whole band disappeared under thunderous applause behind the stage, and then (again, not typical Oasis) All four encores to play! "Don` t Look Back in Anger "came in an unusual acoustic garb, which was very fitting and emotional. My personal highlight was "Champagne Supernova" from her album "(What's The Story) Morning Glory?". All evening I've been waiting for this song, but never thought that they would really play. The whole song was announced to sing along and goose bumps. And when you stop so best when it is most beautiful, I thought that now was it. But no! OASIS had another surprise in his luggage. This surprise answered to the name "I Am The Walrus". A Beatles cover, which can be found on their B-sides album "The Master Plan". The mass was raging and you could see a slight grin on the face of Noel.
No matter what you hear of scandals in the tabloids of the Gallagher brothers, you really had the impression that it makes them still fun to play concerts and it also seemed like it would have them also killed in Dresden. Just as the 5500 spectators, too.
